To whom it may concern, thank you for the lovely weather we have enjoyed 2 years running for the Seals barbeque – what a relief!
I have a few big thank you’s to pass on as without their help the day would not have happened.
- My hubby, Paul (1st chef) – for chopping 25 onions, cooking and just being there.
- Paul and Jo Davison (2nd chefs) – for enduring an eye watering, smoke fuelled cooking session when things got rough.
- Sally Dixon, Annie Collins and Letitia Cox – excellent roll cutting and dealing with the hungry crowds.
- Kay Eyre – for providing gazebo’s. Without the shade I think the helpers, and rolls, would have crumpled!
- Trevor Cox – Knight in shining Armour for second year running. He know’s what I mean.
- Julian Percy – sending out invites to all members.
- Simon – excellent potato salad and for being on “standby” as barbeque chef.
- The children – those who helped and those who were just brilliantly behaved. It was lovely to see all age groups having a great day together.
If I have forgotten to thank anyone else I apologise. Give yourself a pat on the back from me. x
The team would like to apologise for the delay in serving the food – it certainly was not our intention for it to be that late. Although both barbeques were lit at 11.30am, they did not have enough ventilation to draw the air in. Although they were hot enough to cook the food, they were very slow for the amount of food we had. I think they are probably suited to smaller groups for cooking – it’s a shame as the venue itself was ideal. However, I am sure you all enjoyed your day and let’s hope the weather next year is good to us too (whatever the plan may be………….).
