Thank you letter from a parent

I just wanted to share a little bit of news about our daughter’s recent achievement outside of Seals.I know she is not in the top 2 or 3 swimmers in her year at Seals but she works hard nevertheless and has progressed. She recently competed in a pony club tetrathlon (horse riding, swimming, running and shooting) event out near Shaftesbury. Her results were so-so but in the swimming she was placed first of ALL the girls in her age group across ALL the clubs. She was very pleased. We just wanted you to know that her work and especially all the efforts of the coaches often pays off in ways that you don’t get to see.

(an e-mail of thanks was sent to Anne, Annette and Carol on behalf of the parents).

Barbeque: Thank You!

To whom it may concern, thank you for the lovely weather we have enjoyed 2 years running for the Seals barbeque – what a relief!

I have a few big thank you’s to pass on as without their help the day would not have happened.

  • My hubby, Paul (1st chef) – for chopping 25 onions, cooking and just being there.
  • Paul and Jo Davison (2nd chefs) – for enduring an eye watering, smoke fuelled cooking session when things got rough.
  • Sally Dixon, Annie Collins and Letitia Cox – excellent roll cutting and dealing with the hungry crowds.
  • Kay Eyre – for providing gazebo’s. Without the shade I think the helpers, and rolls, would have crumpled!
  • Trevor Cox – Knight in shining Armour for second year running. He know’s what I mean.
  • Julian Percy – sending out invites to all members.
  • Simon – excellent potato salad and for being on “standby” as barbeque chef.
  • The children  –  those who helped and those who were just brilliantly behaved. It was lovely to see all age groups having a great day together.

If I have forgotten to thank anyone else I apologise. Give yourself a pat on the back from me. x

The team would like to apologise for the delay in serving the food – it certainly was not our intention for it to be that late. Although both barbeques were lit at 11.30am, they did not have enough ventilation to draw the air in. Although they were hot enough to cook the food, they were very slow for the amount of food we had. I think they are probably suited to smaller groups for cooking – it’s a shame as the venue itself was ideal.  However, I am sure you all enjoyed your day and let’s hope the weather next year is good to us too (whatever the plan may be………….).

Fun Evening – CANCELLED

I have contacted SnowTrax ski centre (Matchams Lane, near Christchurch) to enquire about a combined 1 hour activity for the children. For £10.25 per child they can have half hour Ski-bobbing (age 6 – adult) and half hour Ringo’s (age 3 – adult). Please see their website for more details.
I am looking at holding this event on Wednesday 25th April 6 – 7pm.
The maximum amount of children (or adults) per activity is 20 (only 40 spaces in total).
If you wish your child (or yourself) to join in this fun activity then please contact me either at Seals (Friday’s only) or by mobile 07880 725682.
I will require a £5.00 deposit per person in order to secure this booking and will need to know by Tuesday 3rd April at the very latest.
I think it will be a great opportunity for the children to mix socially outside of the swimming group. If all goes well I will be looking at other activities to book in the near future.
