Parents: The Home Championships needs YOU!

We cannot run the Home Championship without volunteers to help with timekeeping and other duties. If every parent available can volunteer for just one session when their child is swimming, we will easily have enough helpers. Participating is always more fun than just watching. Look out for the sign-up sheet on the Seals noticeboard. Thanks!

HOG ROAST A SUCCESS!!!!

Many thanks to all those who attended our Hog Roast and family fun day. From the looks on the kid’s (ice cream covered) faces, it was enjoyed by all. The guy’s on the Hog Roast (A W Andrew’s butcher’s of Verwood) cooked the hog to perfection. In fact, so many attended, he was beginning to panic about running out of hog! The Get Up and Bounce crew were great and allowed the “big” kids to have a go on both the mini assault and the bouncy castle. The weather was perfect (although Thursday I went into meltdown with the heavy rain forecast and thought I might be eating leftover hog for the week as no-one would turn up).

Many thanks to Sally, Letitia and Karen for the lovely salads. Thanks to Kay for the gazebo’s. Julian for table and chair carrying duties! And big thanks to all the swimmers for their excellant behaviour and courtesy towards each other during games/bouncy castle. My little litter pickers (girls in pink) done a great job – amazing what can be achieved with the promise of an extra ice lolly/ice cream.

This was my last organized event (possibly) as Karen Bradfield will be taking over my role as Club Secretary. I wish her luck and hope you can support her in her new role too.

Please, please keep checking the notice board and website for future events – with a club as large as ours it’s the best way to find out information. You can also e-mail any of the committee (listed on the website under “contacts”) should you wish something personal/urgent to be dealt with. The committee are always on the lookout for new members to keep the club running and you do not have to give up too much of your time. The more people that get involved the less time you will have to give – job’s can be shared.

Again, thanks for your company on Sunday
