Just a quick note to say that we have pulled out of the galas on the 15th and 22nd September because of the limited time to prepare for them when we return to training. Hope to see you all back at Ringwood on the 11th!
Barbeque
Many thanks to all those who attended the Summer barbeque recently. The sun shone all day.The kids had a great time making dens, climbing trees, playing football and doing what kids should be doing. Everyone was chilled and having a great time and bought some tasty looking picnics. Jamie ate lots of burgers and hot dogs (he’s lucky he can get away with the extra calories)! Thanks to Anne who bought her Olympic torch along for some photo opportunities!!!
Special thanks to Tim and Amanda Jarvis (top chef), Trevor and Letitia Cox (help with organizing and running around looking for extra burgers/sausages), Annie Collins (putting together a mean hot dog) and hubby Paul for assisting me and keeping me sane! Also to Kerin (collecting money) and anyone else I hounded up to the main event.
I hope the event can be repeated next year, although I can’t guarantee the weather!
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Anne carries the Olympic Torch
“It was a great atmosphere with the kids “high fiving” the policemen on bikes and the Samsung van handing out inflatable tubes to bang together -very noisy! As Anne got off the coach, the kids mobbed her and everyone wanted photos taken with her. It was such a wonderful moment and Anne looked like she enjoyed every moment, although a little overwhelmed by the turnout.” Kim
“Hi Anne, it was lovely to see you this morning! You were so lucky with the weather for your part too! All the kids are so proud of you!” Amanda

DIRECTIONS TO ANDERWOOD – SUMMER BARBECUE
After checking out this site I thought I would give you directions, as it is not signposted from main road! In my opinion, I would avoid going through Lyndhurst to get to it as traffic can be very heavy during summer months. However, if you do decide to take this route, then Anderwood is first right after Rhinefield/Boldrewood crossroads. Here is our route:
- From Ringwood, follow the A31 up to Picket Post service station and then follow the signs to Burley.
- Carry on through Burley (past the cricket field, White Buck etc) until you reach the Station Tea Rooms. Take a right here (signposted Lyndhurst) and follow road to the left.
- At junction turn left and continue onto A35 sign posted Lyndhurst. Follow this road for approx 4 miles until you see a triangular grassed area on your left and a green post on your right – you need to turn left here.
- Follow this road, passing Vinney Ridge on your left, for approx 1 mile. Anderwood is then on your right-hand side.
There are picnic benches here, but it may be worth taking chairs/fold-up picnic tables/rug in case there is not enough to accommodate us all! If anyone fancies bringing a small gazebo, this may be useful if weather turns or it is extremely hot (we hope). There is a lovely grassed area for the kids to play and forest walks for those with dogs.
THIS IS A WELL KEPT SITE. PLEASE, PLEASE ENSURE ALL LITTER IS TAKEN HOME OR PUT INTO BINS PROVIDED – IT’S MY NAME ON THE BOOKING FORM!!!!
Any queries, please feel free to speak to me at Seals or e-mail via website.
