Dates to Remember

Friday 12th July: Spring Sprints awards

The results for the Spring Sprints are on the Notice Board and also available for viewing in the Members Area. Medals and trophies will be presented on poolside. 1st and 2nd Session at 7.15 pm. 3rd Session at 8.30 pm. Come onto poolside to watch.

Sunday July 14th: LYMINGTON SEAWATER BATHS, 6.00-7.30pm

FREE SUMMER TREAT – (free for Seals members) – £10 for all other people)
Our popular club treat. Nice pub next door for parents but also chairs etc to sit round the pool. Always been fantastic weather, fingers crossed, but we go ahead regardless as the swimmers are wet anyway. Lots of Mega Inflatables. Paddle Boards etc. Pool only about 1.5m deep.
Small version of inflatables for really little people but they have always been on the big stuff. Really tiny people need an adult in with them – you will enjoy this too. Wetsuits available or bring your own.
Look on the website for pictures and prices of food (which is cheap and very good).

Sunday 21st and 1st September: 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm.

FREE session at Ringwood. We will be members of the public for a rapid response training session. We can also have training lanes. This is for all family and friends as well as Seals swimmers.

Please get all swimmers to bring a drink of water or very weak squash with them when training – no plastic bottles. Put names on them please.

Annual Membership Renewal

This is a reminder to all families to renew their Seals annual membership.
Even members who joined in the last few months now need to complete our annual renewal.

Anybody who has not renewed by Thursday 9th May will not be eligible to swim on Friday 10th or any other session without rejoining.

Update from Anne

  1. Thank you for a good night at the presentation night. Congratulations to all the winners.
  2. The calendar for the fixtures 2019 is on the board and the website. Carole is about to put Novice League swimmers list on noticeboard.
  3. The times and positions for each stroke currently on the noticeboard will be taken down on Sunday (10th).
  4. We will be running holiday times in half-term – these are on the website.
  5. 2nd/3rd Session swimmers should be swimming 3 times a week please, especially as the league season is approaching.
  6. It is the time of year for registration of swimmers who want to go to Open meets. These are like galas but, instead of teams swimming against each other, swimmers swim as an individual. Swimmers can come from all over the country and it is a good way to see how you stand against others. You have to pay an extra amount to become registered and it costs approx. £5.00 to enter each race. You are responsible for travel to these events. We go to Opens that are not too far away if possible and approx. 3/4 a year. You cannot be entered into County trials unless you swim at open events and achieve qualifying times. We will be sending off a list of names shortly so if anyone is interested please speak to Anne or Trevor/Cheryl Ward. Vicky Burghart can also give you an idea of what Opens are like.
  7. PLEASE, PLEASE put names on drinks bottles as I end up with lots of bottles which I eventually throw away and some of them are really nice. Also name the T-Shirts as they are all the same and very hard to work out which one belongs to who.
